How To Use The Alphabet Soup Technique

What the heck is the Alphabet Soup Technique I hear you saying! No, it's not making keyword search terms out of the letters floating in our chicken alphabet soup, this method includes using the actual Google keyword listing for creating other keywords.

The alphabet soup technique is a great way to get the creative juices flowing to find new keyword phrases for your website posts. Once the new page has loaded, just go to the very last letter and left click. This will show a dropdown of Google suggestions of other relevant topics people are searching for.

Google's Alphabet Soup Method

So as you can see above, I have typed a keyword phrase that appealed to me. From there, I left clicked to view the drop-down of what Google has suggested.

I got really excited about the very first key phrase that appeared and quickly entered the keywords straight into my SEO Keyword Research Tool. The results were very pleasing and definitely a "Keeper" for future posts on my other websites, lol.

In my experience with keyword research tools, I've found the Jaaxy Platform to be the pick of the litter because it is super quick and extremely accurate with the traffic stats. Jaaxy is also a ripper because it was built especially for "ease of use' - making it incredibly user-friendly.

Plus the Jaaxy keyword tool gives you 30 free searches which are another good reason to try the platform out.

Ok! Let's fire this baby up and see what she can do, shall we?

Entering A keyword Phrase Into Jaaxy

To commence your journey of discovery to find golden nugget keyword opportunities, place a relevant keyword into the search bar and hit search.

For example, I've typed in "SEO keyword tool"

The Best Tool To Use For Finding Keywords

Right of the cuff, I have a bunch of ideas to work with. These are just 6 of the 20 keywords that were generated for my search term above.

The various numbers you can see all have a meaning which can be seen below...

Avg = The average number of searches the keyword gets each month

Traffic = the expected amount of monthly traffic your post will get if you hit the first page of Google.

QSR (Quoted Search Results) = a powerful metric for gauging how many competing websites are using the same keyword.

KQI (Keyword Quality Indicator) = an accurate overview of whether the keyword you're targeting is good or bad. Green is good whilst Red is poor.

SEO = an SEO ranking score that indicates whether your search term is good from a Search Engine Optimization point of view. (Any rating above 80 is ok)

So How Do We Pick The Right Keywords?

Now, before you go off and choose any random keyword term willy-nilly for your next blog post, it's important that you find your Golden-Nugget one to roll with to get your content ranked.

It's also extremely important to make sure your new keyword makes perfect grammatical sense.

By doing this, you can place your chosen keywords throughout your content within the sentence structure that adds up to a very powerful ranking factor.

Firstly, look at the QSR because you want the least amount of competing website competition as possible. QSR is the most critical element.

So choose a number under 100 (ideally as near to 0 is best)

Secondly, you'll need a keyword that generates some traffic.

Ideally, you want the AVG to be over 30 visits per month to make it worthwhile. The QSR must be under 100 and a SEO Score above 80.

Finally, the KQI needs to read "Great", and the SEO score needs to be close to 100 as possible. From 80 and upwards is perfectly fine.

Here's a gem of a keyword phrase I found using Jaaxy, and in fact, is the keywords I have used for the post you are reading right now.

  1. I love Jaaxy, not only because it’s very easy to use, but also because I can save my keywords. This way, I can do the keyword research for the whole month in one day. I’m trying to find keywords with all the things in your checklist, but since my site is new, I’m trying for SEO above 90. Do you think it’s too much? (The monthly searches for the keywords I find are usually up to 200 and no more.)

    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi, Jenny.
Yes, I love the keyword saving function to. Don’t forget you have a history button to go back to earlier keywords you have typed in. This feature is very handy too.?
With new websites, Jenny the SEO rating has to be over 90 – so excellent job there.
Now with the monthly searches of up to 200 is fine but this has to correspond with a low QSR (Competing Websites) score. If the QSR is over 100, you will find it very hard to rank for that particular keyword.
A good rule of thumb and one that I always follow for terrific results is as follows…
Go for 100 monthly searches and a QSR of under 100 with an SEO rating of over 90.

  2. This is a very good review of how to use a keyword tool. Looks like it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to use as most other keyword tools do. I was amazed in the numbers of monthly searches you found for the What is a keyword search tool for. I see how much better this keyword tool is than the Adwords keyword planner that Google is offering website authors.

My question is what does the traffic numbers mean as far as the monthly searches and the QSR? Is this relevant information to keep in mind when choosing the appropriate keyword?

    • Thanks for dropping by, Kenneth.
To be fair with the Google Adwords keyword planner, this keyword tool does an adequate job for PPC (Paid Per Click Campaigns).
Ranking our website posts on search engines like Google and Bing takes a lot more digging into the keywords stats to rank on page 1.
In regards to your question above, the Traffic is the monthly search numbers by people searching a particular keyword phrase and the QSR is the number of competing websites for that specific phrase.
Go ahead and pop the bonnet for yourself with 30 free searches.?
Don’t worry! No credit card details needed to try so no payments to pay if you forget to cancel which is often the case.

  3. I have been using Jaaxy for about a year now and I am really enjoying it. I like how I can save different keyword ideas so that I can use them later. I find the Alphabet Soup Technique to be particularly useful and helpful. I don’t use any keywords without first checking to see if I missed a better one.

    • Hi there, Hollie!😃
Yeah, I love using the Alphabet Soup Technique to as this lets me find keywords that people are actually searching for.
You can always find different variations of these keywords with good traffic and low competition.

  4. I can tell by experience that learning how to do SEO is made to sound like rocket science and it really looks like it is when you start, because well, you aren’t taught how to do it, or if you have read about it, the specifics are never told, and starting an online business sounds like something that is possible but no one tells you exactly how.  I knew keywords were important but didn’t know how to find them or how to interpret the numbers. The advice I got from your article has been practical and straight to the point so that I could run an online business.

    • G’Day, Neil!😃
I’m happy that I could be of service to you and do know what you mean by other training sites leaving out bits of vital information you need.
They do this for a reason, to encourage you to signup to an email list or buy the product that can fill in the rest of the puzzle.

  5. I agree with your article. Jaaxy is very important in getting you the right keywords, which are the essence of you ranking and getting traffic. I can’t even imagine going without it. One of it’s best features is that it helps you with suggestions so that you can find exactly those keywords that at first sight you might not think about. At the end of the day, you are still going to need a lot of creativity with adding and deleting words and also just putting yourself in the shoes of the searcher to get those keywords which don’t have a lot of competition but still have a good amount of searches.

    • Hi there, Faheem!😃
A wise man once said that if you give somebody a fish, they can eat for one day.
But teach them to fish and they can eat for the rest of their life.

  6. Thanks Jeff for your insightful article about keyword search tools. This is very helpful for me as I joined Wealthy Affiliate a few days back as a premium member and still learning the different steps of affiliate marketing. But by spending more time I will get to know to learn more. I have yet to select my niche which I will do soon and then will create my website. Yeah, Jaaxy is the most advanced keyword tool which I will use in this site once I create my website.
